Brasserie Heysel * Restoration Nouvelle
About This Spot
Walking into Brasserie Heysel * Restoration Nouvelle, you’re greeted by an atmosphere that balances a quiet, unhurried rhythm with a subtle energy—one that feels both familiar and a bit refined. This spot, nestled in Brussels’ Romansteenweg neighborhood, invites you to settle in and enjoy a moment away from the usual bustle. The interior’s warm, thoughtful touches hint at a place where care is given not only to what arrives on your plate but to the overall experience.
The pace here encourages attentive, relaxed dining, where conversations flow easily over thoughtfully prepared meals that feel simultaneously comforting and carefully crafted. The kitchen’s approach to hearty, home-inspired fare shines through in dishes that are generous without being overwhelming, reflecting a genuine respect for tradition with room for a few modern flourishes. Whether sharing a richly sauced steak, a delicately seasoned seafood plate, or a farm-fresh vegetable salad, the meal feels like a personal invitation to savor and linger.
Brasserie Heysel embraces the convivial spirit of a neighborhood restaurant with a subtle nod to French brasserie charm. The hum of softly pouring wine, the clink of glasses, and quiet bursts of laughter add layers of warmth that enhance the sense of a shared, communal meal. The staff’s care, while sometimes brisk, reveals a sincere desire to make each guest’s visit comfortable—an honest effort in a sometimes busy atmosphere.
There’s a considered joy in the balance between classic and contemporary—whether it’s in the carefully assembled croquettes or the freshness of a vibrant tartare. It’s a place meant for moments that stretch just long enough to appreciate the textures, flavors, and the quiet contentment of good company.

Nice atmosphere and delicious plates (maybe too big portions). Unfortunately, the Gin&Tonic's aren't really well poored... Way too much alcohol...

place. Perfect atmosphere - enough attention was paid to our well-being. Delicious steak and meatballs with crispy potatoes. Prices were appropriate.

We came here for a team dinner for 20+, with a set menu. Not the best situation for great food, you might have thought. However, the starter of pumpkin soup was delicious, my main course of duck was tender and flavoursome and the creme brulee for dessert could not be faulted, with a perfect crunchy topping.Service was impeccable, despite the restaurant downstairs being busy.

Good service, beautiful interior and very good quality food. The waiters are quite stressed (difficult to hide it...) and the entrecôte is really overpriced (29€). I sticked to the boulettes sauces tomates that we’re amazing.
